Public amenities and services in Ashburton are the responsibility of different organisations. If you have noticed a problem, please see the information below to find out who is responsible and how to report it.
Missed Bin Collection

Potholes and Road Defects

Vandalism

Criminal damage should be reported to the police: Devon & Cornwall Police
Fly Tipping / Litter
Litter issues can be reported to Teignbridge District Council, which is responsible for street cleaning and litter bins: Report litter or street cleaning issues
Fly tipping on public roads or in towns should be reported to Teignbridge District Council: Report flytipping – Self
If the tipping is on private land around Ashburton, the landowner is responsible for clearing it.
For fly-tipping in progress or major road obstructions, call the police on 999

Parking
The main Kingsbridge Lane Car Parks in the centre of town are run by Teignbridge District Council, for any issues with parking here you should contact them:

Parks, playgrounds, and open spaces

Planning Objections
Residents can comment on planning applications during the consultation period.
To do this either:
- Visit the planning section of Dartmoor National Park website (for planning proposals North of the A38): Comment on a Planning Application | Dartmoor
- or Teignbridge District Council (for planning proposals South of the A38): https://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/planning
You can also:
- Attend an Ashburton Town Council meeting where the application is being discussed
- Speak during the public participation section
All comments submitted to DNP or TDC are considered as part of the decision-making process.
