Report a Problem

Public amenities and services in Ashburton are the responsibility of different organisations. If you have noticed a problem, please see the information below to find out who is responsible and how to report it.

Missed Bin Collection

Missed bin collections should be reported to Teignbridge District Council: Report a missed bin collection

Potholes and Road Defects

Potholes and road defects are the responsibility of Devon County Council Highways: Report a pothole

Vandalism

Vandalism affecting town council property can be reported to Ashburton Town Council: Ashburton Town Council contact page

Criminal damage should be reported to the police: Devon & Cornwall Police

Fly Tipping / Litter

Litter issues can be reported to Teignbridge District Council, which is responsible for street cleaning and litter bins: Report litter or street cleaning issues

Fly tipping on public roads or in towns should be reported to Teignbridge District Council:  Report flytipping – Self

If the tipping is on private land around Ashburton, the landowner is responsible for clearing it. 

For fly-tipping in progress or major road obstructions, call the police on 999

Parking

The main Kingsbridge Lane Car Parks in the centre of town are run by Teignbridge District Council, for any issues with parking here you should contact them:

On-street parking issues such as parking on yellow lines, misuse of residents’ parking permits/ loading bays and blocking dropped kerbs or disabled bays should be reported to Devon County Council: Report a parking problem – Roads and transport
Obstructions and dangerous parking should be reported to the Police by calling 101 or Devon & Cornwall Police
Abandoned vehicles should be reported to Teignbridge District Council: Teignbridge District Council Parking.

Parks, playgrounds, and open spaces

Teignbridge District Council is responsible for playparks, public open spaces, waste services, and street cleaning. Teignbridge District Council

Devon County Council is responsible for highways, roadside verges, and some public rights of way. Devon County Council

Planning Objections
