Town Clerk

Caroline Dodds

What do you enjoy most about working for Ashburton Town Council?

I enjoy working with the Councillors, knowing that they all strive to do the best for our community even when faced with scrutiny and challenge.

What do you find most rewarding about supporting the community?

I find the small moments the most rewarding. The trader who passes on their thanks after the Town Team have tidied North Street; or when an elderly resident who comes in just for a chat on their way home and thanking us for the company.

What’s one local event you always look forward to?

I always look forward to the historic days, the days where the community comes together as one: the poignancy of Remembrance Day or the celebration and tradition of Portreeve’s Sunday.

A fun fact about yourself:

I have always loved to travel. I once went paragliding off the coast of Lanzarote, climbed the Empire State Building, visited Hoover Dam and Death Valley, ate an ice cream in St Mark’s Square in Venice, and saw Michael Flatley perform Lord of the Dance in Dublin to name but a few.
