The wait is over – Ashburton Carnival Week 2026 is finally here!
Running from Saturday 27 June to Sunday 5 July, this year's carnival promises a full programme of community events, culminating in the spectacular Carnival Procession and celebrations on Saturday 4 July.

The 2026 theme is “Night at the Movies”, so expect a week filled with film-inspired costumes, creativity and community spirit.
There are events for all ages taking place across the week:
- Saturday 27 June – Pensioners Coffee Morning, Town Hall, 10:00am–12:00pm
A warm and friendly start to the week, offering residents a chance to come together over refreshments and conversation. - Monday 29 June – Bingo, Town Hall (Doors open 7:00pm, Eyes Down 7:30pm)
A popular community evening with plenty of excitement and prizes to be won. - Tuesday 30 June – Cricket Match, Balland Lane, 6:00pm
A classic summer fixture bringing together local players and supporters for an evening of friendly competition with live music, BBQ and bar onsite. - Wednesday 1 July – Quiz Night, Town Hall, 7:30pm
A fun and sociable evening testing general knowledge and teamwork in a relaxed setting. - Thursday 2 July – Fun Run, 6:15pm, followed by the Duck Race at 6:30pm, Cleder Place
The Fun Run offers a lively community challenge for all ages and abilities, followed by the ever-popular Duck Race along the River Ashburn, where residents cheer on hundreds of plastic ducks racing downstream in support of local causes. - Saturday 4 July – Carnival Procession, meeting at Glendinning Car Park at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start
The highlight of the week, featuring colourful floats, costumes and entertainment as the procession winds through the town celebrating this year’s “Night at the Movies” theme. - Saturday 4 July – Party in the Park, Recreation Ground from 7:00pm
An evening celebration with music, entertainment and community festivities, rounding off Carnival Day in style. - Sunday 5 July – Church Service, St Andrew’s Church, 10:30am
A reflective and welcoming service to close Carnival Week, bringing the community together in a moment of thanks and celebration.
