If you are passionate about your local community, we would love to hear from you.
Town councillors play an important role in supporting the community, improving quality of life and helping shape how local issues are addressed. We welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences who reflect the communities they serve to consider standing for election.
Ashburton Town Council is facing an important and exciting period of change, with the potential transfer of several local assets, including public toilets, play parks and green spaces. We are keen to hear from individuals who feel they can make a positive contribution or bring valuable skills and experience to the council.
If you are considering becoming a councillor, please contact the Town Clerk at townclerk@ashburtontowncouncil.gov.uk to find out more about the role and what is involved.
We can explain how the council works, what councillors do, how to take the first steps towards standing for election and the support available to you throughout the process.
Ashburton Town Council councillors are not politically affiliated and must live within 3 miles (4.8 km) of the parish boundary.
