Cléder Twinning Visit
From 22–25 May, Ashburton was delighted to welcome visitors from its twinned French town of Cléder as part of the annual twinning exchange programme.
Ashburton is an historic ancient Stannary Town (which means it was once a centre for the administration of tin-mining) and is recorded in the Domesday Book. The Town Council is located in Ashburton Town Hall, a Grade II listed building in North Street.

Residents gathered at Ashburton Town Hall on Thursday 28 May for the Annual Town Meeting, an important opportunity for local people to engage with their Town Council and discuss matters affecting the community.
Ashburton Town Council has a vacancy for a new Councillor.
As part of local government reorganisation, Teignbridge District Council assets may transfer to Ashburton Town Council, and residents are invited to share their views on the town’s future and how these assets should be managed.
